Maaruf Yakub is an accomplished project management professional with nearly a decade of experience leading complex youth-focused initiatives across Africa. Currently, he serves as the Senior Project Coordinator for the Africa Projects Development Centre. In this role, he strategically manages large-scale projects spanning agriculture, entrepreneurship, and creative industries, further demonstrating his passion for sustainable development on the continent.
He holds a Bachelor of Agriculture in Animal Sciences and a Master of Science in Animal Breeding and Genetics.
His career exemplifies a dedication to strategic planning and project management. His expertise lies in consolidating diverse efforts and teams towards unified goals. This is evident in his successful coordination of major multi-stakeholder programs like the SYMUF project (in conjunction with IITA, AAIN, and sponsored by the African Development Bank) simultaneously, he oversees operations as the IFAD Agrihub Manager in Abuja.
His work with IAAS (International Association of Students in Agricultural and Related Sciences) and the Beyond the Classroom Foundation further showcases his commitment to sustainable development on the continent. His diverse experiences also encompass customer service, public policy, and international development.
