Position Summary
We are seeking a creative visual storyteller and content creator who believes that powerful stories and compelling multimedia content are crucial to capturing the "why" behind our mission, expanding our reach, and inspiring action across the continent.
This is not a typical internship. You'll be a core member of our team, given the creative freedom to find, craft, and share compelling narratives about our work, our people, and the communities we serve. Your mission is to capture the "why" behind what we do and communicate it in a way that resonates and sparks action.
Reports To: Senior Manager, Knowledge Management and ICT/Director of Programmes, Partnerships and Policy.
Position Type: Internship.
What You'll Do:
- Find the Story:Proactively seek out compelling stories and impact data from our different departments, projects, and partners.
- Craft the Narrative:Write, edit, and produce engaging content, including:
- Human-interest articles and blog posts.
- Engaging social media captions and threads.
- Video scripts and interview questions.
- Content for our website and email newsletters.
- Create the Content:Capture authentic, high-quality photos and short-form videos (Reels, TikToks, Shorts) that bring our stories to life.
- Visual Production & Editing:Shoot, edit, and produce authentic, high-quality photos and short-form videos (Reels, TikToks, Shorts).
- Design engaging visual assets, infographics, and banners using tools like Canva.
- Engage the Audience:Assist in managing our social media channels, posting content, and engaging with our online community.
- Support the Team:Collaborate with the communications team on larger campaigns, events, and reports.
Who We're Looking For (Requirements)
- Must be a current NYSC Corp Memberactively serving or seeking a PPA in Abuja, FCT.
- An Excellent Writer:You have a strong command of the English language and can write clear, concise, and inspiring copy for different audiences.
- A Visual Thinker:You have a good eye for design and aesthetics. Proven ability to shoot and edit high-quality video/photo content. Proficiency in graphic design tools (like Canva, CapCut, or similar) is a core requirement.
- Socially Savvy:You are a regular user of social media (Instagram, X, LinkedIn, TikTok) and understand what makes content engaging on each platform.
- A Curious People-Person:You are a great listener, naturally curious, and comfortable interviewing people from all walks of life.
- Proactive & Eager to Learn:You are a self-starter who can manage your time, take initiative, and are excited to learn new skills.
